We just went live on IndieGoGo! $45 in the first 45 minutes. That's a start:) I now have to get my head organized and send email blasts to my lists. Check out the teaser that Michael Lang and Miguel Amodio cut! It's Incredible ;) -Aurora
So after a bunch of research I found out that IndieGoGo is a better option than using Kickstarter. It seems that the artists I've talked to are happier on IndieGoGo even though Kickstarter has more press. IndieGoGo has been around longer than Kickstarter. I don't know that it means anything except that it is what it is....I've been spending the last few days in the LA rain working on the campaign page and getting everything set up. I think the biggest lesson that I've learned through this process is that EVERYTHING in production takes at least 2x's longer than you think it will. Our pitch video has gone through 2 reconstructions and is at a point where it's ready to launch today! The teaser will be done shortly. I've also been in close communication with my PR person, Sasha Szczepanski, and she's got some great ideas about marketing. The one thing that I found through my questioning of people with successful fund raising campaigns is that they pushed the project the whole time. It became their job the whole time: they were sending out Press releases about the campaign, tweeting, FBing and emailing updates. So, I've got my work cut out for me. New territory is exciting! |
