Some cool news I found out recently: Our very own Alexis Carra ( aka Innocent Girl) was cast as a series regular in a new ABC tv show coming out called "Mixology". You go Girl! Updates for her show can be found here:
Set the date for the 'Shorts and Spirits Showcase' on Wed, Sept 18th. IG will be screening there. Info below:

Lots of things have been on the move over the last month when it comes to IG. I've been in talks with a distributor for a possible distribution deal, I've been working with Terea Jusino, a writer, on creating a web-series, we won an online contest for a screening at the 360focus festival now happening in September and we had two screenings this week: one at El Cid and the other at the Electric Dusk Drive In in downtown LA.
I also spent two days writing an article for Ms. In the Biz, a magazine style blog for ladies in the industry. Here is the link http://msinthebiz.com/2013/06/13/what-it-takes-to-be-an-incredible-girl/
I feel like a filmmaker. I've never done this before.
In case you have not heard the news yet, WE WON the Talenthouse contest for a screening this morning! We worked all yesterday and morning asking people to vote and they came through!
The last 2 hours were a battle with a film that had been in the lead for days, but we managed to pull ahead. Next we wait for a jury to decide if we get any money or not with the support of Nokia.
Looks like a bunch of filmmaking buffies (lady buffs) will be screening IG at an 88 seat theater in Minneapolis at the end of the month. If you are in that city and want details, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
We had our first two screenings this month. The first in LA 2 weeks ago and the second in San Francisco this past weekend. There was a lot of fantastic feedback. If you weren’t able to see the film at either of those screenings, it is now viewable online. A downloadable version has already been sent to those of you who contributed $35 or more to the campaign. If you haven’t gotten the email, please email me so I can send it to you again. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much all of this means to me. LOVE Enjoy the final version of this ‘Girl’ here :)
We’ve got the friends and family screening (LA) of “Incredible Girl” nailed down. Mark your calendars for Friday evening, January 18, 2013 at the SAG Foundation. It will be screening with a bunch of other short form content from Inner Image Media, so seating will be limited. I’ll be sending a formal invite out to everyone who contributed in the next few weeks. Thank you! Please contact us if you want to come.
Well, it's the end of the year and we haven't been accepted into any festivals. I can't pretend that I am not disappointed. I am. It seems a shame to spend so much money on festivals and not get a presentation slot. But there are never any guarantees and I knew that going in. So I've decided to do an LA and SF screening for everyone here who's been asking me when they can see it and then release it online. I don't think it's home is on the festival circuit. That is what my gut says after submitting to different categories in festivals, different calibers of festivals and knowing festival submission is an art in and of itself and I am but a wee tot stepping in. The first thing that my mind thinks is that the project is just not appealing. And I know that for some it's not. But what I know about IG is that it hovers in between narrative/ experimental and music video. I now think that line needs to be clear for festival line-up. I also know that I love it and most everyone who worked on it loves it. So, having said all that, if you are in LA, I'll be screening it in January 2013 and in SF at some point at the beginning of the year. If you are elsewhere, look for it online ( youtube, vimeo, IMDB ). And of course I'll post those links here too. And if you've been liking it on IMDB, thank you very much. I have no idea who or why we have so many likes already :). FIN.
